How We Met
I (Staci) had always thought David was super cute. He’s six years older than me though, so I didn’t think I ever had a chance with him. When I was in sixth grade, my friend Mandy and I watched a basketball game he was playing from the top bleachers giggling about how cute we thought he was. Little did I know, I would get to go on a date with him 10 years later when my friend Meagan connected us.
The Proposal
We decided to host a party with all of our friends and family to celebrate my birthday along with a couple of other friends’ birthdays. That night David called everyone into the living room for a “thank you for coming” speech. As he was speaking, he started to say super sweet things about me and how great our relationship has been. At the end of his speech, he got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, I was so excited that all I could get out of my mouth was “Mhm.” What a beautiful moment I get to experience in front of my favorite people. Even our sweet dog, Jade, got to be a part of her parents’ happy day.
Favorite Moment
David has never paid attention to the cake cutting portion of other weddings we have been to, and he decided to feed himself the first bite after we cut our cake. Everyone started laughing, and I just stood there with my mouth open thinking, “What the heck are you doing?” I told him what we were supposed to do, and we proceeded to feed each other the cake. I shoved the cake all over his face, and somehow, I walked away from that table with a clean face and fresh licked fingers. We laughed about that moment for the next week!
