A Night for the Angels

Cajun Boys and Our Po Boys in Chelsea

Three Chelsea High School students along with other community members are collecting donations for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as part of the Students of the Year program. Local restaurants are helping with the effort by contributing a portion of sales on select nights to the cause. Cajun Boys and Our Po Boys in Chelsea will donate a portion of sales from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5. Also, Chick-fil-A will set up a tent every Thursday evening off U.S. 280 just north of Walmart in Chelsea. Limited food items will available with a portion of sales to benefit Kenna’s Warriors.

Paws for the Cause

March 9

Veterans Park in Hoover

Bring your pup to the park to support the Shelby Humane Society at the Paws for the Cause 5K and 1-Mile Tail Waggin’ Trek. The certified 5K off-road cross-country race will wind around the park and its lake, and through tree-lined trails that surround the park. The Tail Waggin-Trek is a 1-mile “obstacle” course run for individuals or teams and will be fun for adults, kids and dogs.
