Brought to patrons by the Helena High School band, this spring market fundraiser will feature boutique clothing, home decor items, jewelry and more. Boots and Black Tie Gala

Wear your favorite boots and cocktail attire, and join the friends of Special Equestrians for the annual Boots and Black Tie Gala! The festivities will commence with cocktail hour at 6 p.m., and Special Equestrian riders will perform an exhibition. B&A Warehouse will serve dinner afterwards, and attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction, too. Daniel Bowden will serenade the audience with his musical talents. Judy M. Merritt Memorial 5K & Family Fun Day

This annual 5K’s proceeds benefit scholarships for Jefferson State Community College (JSCC) students. After the race, everyone is invited to attend the family fun day, which will feature inflatables, food vendors, a dj, face painting and more. The race is held in honor of JSCC’s former president Dr. Judy M. Merritt, who served as the college’s president for 35 years. She was the first female president of an Alabama college. Medders Family Farm’s Spring Fling

Everyone’s favorite “spring fling” event is back and will feature more than 50 vendors, eight food trucks, family-friendly games and activities, professional photo shoot opportunities and of course, Medders Family Farm’s annual eggstravaganza! There will be two different Easter egg hunts–one at 10:30 a.m. and the other at 2:30 p.m. There will be three different age divisions at each time frame, so children of all ages can go at their own pace and find some neat eggs. To the Moon and Back Dance

Brought to patrons by Helena Soccer, this annual mother-son dance promises a night of fun and fellowship as attendees dance the night away. This event is open to boys up to eighth grade and their mothers. The event will also feature music, light refreshments and fun activities. Tickets are $45 per couple. A Very Special Easter Egg Hunt

A Very Special Easter Egg Hunt is back this spring, providing families of children with special needs a safe, relaxing opportunity to hunt for Easter eggs and enjoy the season’s festivities with the community. The event will also feature crafts, a cake walk, face painting, family-friendly games and activities and more. The Easter bunny will make a guest appearance for photos, too. Oak Mountain State Fair

Bring the family out for the annual Oak Mountain State Fair! The fair features carnival games, attractions, food vendors and more. This year, the state fair will be offering free parking everyday in addition to free attractions by the Sea Lion Splash and The Dominguez Circus with the price of admission.
