Shelby County Arts Council offers a variety of arts-related events this month.

The Shelby County Arts Council is getting in the holiday spirit with a month of exciting events in December. We’re bringing back some of our favorite acts and artists, as well as some new faces.

Kicking off the month is the annual Holiday Artist Market on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Join us for a fun day of shopping from talented, local artists. This year’s market will feature a variety of arts and fine crafts such as pottery, jewelry, paintings, fabric art, printmaking and much more. Here you can find unique holiday gifts for friends and family. The Artist Market will also coincide with the annual Tour of Homes in Columbiana. Join us for a day of fun the whole family will enjoy. The Holiday Artist Market is free to attend.

Taking the stage in the Black Box Theater on Dec. 8 is the popular music and comedy group Three on a String. Bobby, Brad, Andy and Jerry are back with lots of favorite songs and laughs. Their bluegrass-folk comedy routine is something everyone will enjoy. Join us at the Shelby County Arts Council on Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include a pre-show beverage reception.

Need a little spark in your holiday season? Join us on Dec. 10 for the delightful duo of storyteller Dolores Hydock and musician Bobby Horton. They’re back for Jingle All the Way-Stories and Songs of the Season. Dolores and Bobby blend happy holiday stories with your favorite Christmas tunes. Prepare for a charming storytelling experience unlike any other. Join us on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m., doors open at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.

For all those jazz fans out there we have a very special holiday performance lined up. The Official Clutch Band presents a Jazz Christmas on Dec. 16. This talented group of young musician from Birmingham puts their own twist on some of your favorite holiday standards. The Official Clutch Band draws their inspiration from a variety of genres such as bebop, smooth jazz, R&B and pop, just to name a few. Check out this incredible band on their way to the top! Join us at the Black Box Theater on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include a pre-show beverage reception.
