Christmas Tree Farm

Old Baker Farm
The Choose and Cut Christmas Tree Farm is back at Old Baker Farm. Customers will not only be able to pick their favorite trees from the farm, but they will also get to sample complimentary hot apple cider and candy canes, too. Attendees can take a hayride through the Christmas trees as well. Types of trees available include Virginia Pines, Leyland Cypress, Carolina Sapphire, Arizona Sapphire, Red Cedars and Fraser Firs. The fee for scale of trees is $30 and up, depending on type and size of tree. Visit here for more information.
Christmas at the Station

Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum
The whole family will love Christmas at the Station! Families will enjoy a 30-minute-long train ride on the festive Calera and Shelby train. Santa Claus will be available for photos on the museum grounds, too. Visitors can even enjoy a ride on the narrow-gauge steam train for a brief journey down Candy Cane Lane on the Shelby and Southern Railroad! Everyone’s favorite holiday market featuring local artists is back again at the Shelby County Arts Center this season. Peruse vendors selling handmade items including paintings, pottery, woodwork, fiber art, photography, Christmas ornaments and more! Learn more about this annual market here.

American Village
American Village offers a one-of-a-kind experience each Christmas season, allowing customers to eat, drink and be merry with patriots of the past. Attendees will learn about Christmas traditions in the 18th Century and will enjoy the 188-acre campus adorned in Christmas décor. Pre-reservations are required. Tickets are $40 per person. The 29th Annual Meadow Brook Run
Dec. 16 | 9 a.m. – 5K (Finish around the lakes) | 10 a.m. – One-Mile Fun Run
Get in a run to go with the holiday season around the Meadow Brook area—on what organizers argue is “Birmingham’s most beautiful course.” Walkers and pets on leashes are welcome, too. The run starts at 1100 Corporate Parkway. The entry fees are voluntary, tax-deductible contributions to “The Jesus Video Project of Alabama.” Organizers suggest donating between $15-$25, but each donation amount is up to the runners, themselves.
