How We Met
Blake and I (Natalie) met through mutual friends, and I’ll never forget one Sunday night in 2015 when I was at church and Blake texted me with just “casual” conversation. We have talked every day since that text.
Favorite Moments
When getting ready, my sister and maid of honor Marli had gotten all of my bridesmaids and closest family members to write me a letter. She put them all in a box and gave them to me as I was getting ready on my wedding day. At another moment, Blake’s mom Stacie gave me a box with a diamond necklace that she had made from the diamond of her mother’s engagement ring.
Right before our first look, Blake and I prayed together and then read each other our vows that we decided to write. We both wanted personal vows, but for them to be shared in private and to have the traditional vows during our ceremony. As if this moment could not get better, Blake had one of his friends bring our puppy Waylon to get some pictures with us on our big day. We also decided to have a family prayer after my dad gave me away at the beginning of our ceremony.
During the reception as our bridal party, we had something fun and personal to say for each person of the group, and later that we called a “photo challenge” for 2 minutes of “Marry You” by Bruno Mars where we had to go to each table to get a photo with everyone. We wanted to have a picture with everyone there to remember forever!
Favorite Detail
My bridal bouquet. My mom cut one of the lace sleeves off her wedding dress to wrap around my bridal bouquet. She is saving the other lace sleeve for my sister for when she gets married one day.
