Encanto: The Sing-Along Film Concert

Calera First Friday

Calera Main Street wraps up its First Friday festival season in Downtown Calera, on August 5 with all things “Back to School.” The August event is brought to attendees by presenting sponsor Central State Bank featuring a youth talent show and the second annual Backpack Giveaway. This year the Calera High School Football Boosters will also hold its annual Meet the Eagles night in conjunction with the downtown festival.

Dave Crenshaw presents Color + Sound in Concert

Two-time Grammy award-winning artist Dave Crenshaw is performing at the Shelby County Arts Council! Dave’s album, Color + Sound, is inspired by his auditory deciphering of the harmony of color. When Dave was young, he began experiencing Synesthesia which occurs when one experiences one of the five senses through another sense. In 2020 Dave started suffering from vision loss, so he battled this downturn by creating an album that is therapeutic to those such as himself who are going through tough times. Montevallo Farmers’ Market

Buy fresh and buy local at this market. The Montevallo Farmers’ Market will be open on Mondays starting from the first Monday in June to the third Monday in August from 3-6 p.m. at 660 Main Street.

The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce’s “Community Luncheon”

Wednesday, Aug. 31 | 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Pelham Civic Complex

The chamber invites all to attend their monthly community luncheon, which will focus on the state of the schools throughout Shelby County. Doors open at 11 a.m. for networking, and lunch and the speakers’ addresses will begin at 11:30 a.m. Attendees’ fees are $20 for current Shelby County Chamber members and $30 for future members.
