Dasha Grace & Ross Ham: An Alabama Wedding

How You Met: We (Dasha and Ross) met in an English class when we were freshmen at Chelsea High School. We quickly became friends that year (2011) and then started dating sophomore year (2012). Our love story began when we were in high school, and our love and friendship has continued to grow over the last seven years together!

The Proposal: We were supposed to be going on a date and because of “traffic” we had to re-route and go a different way. On the way there, he pulled into Veterans Park and asked me to get out of the car and walk with him to a tree that we used to sit under during the springtime. This was a special spot for us because under that tree we talked about our future together. As we got to the tree, he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and I said yes. We celebrated with our families after!

Wedding Dress: My wedding dress was my favorite detail of the wedding—I first saw it online at BHLDN and then went to Atlanta with my mom and grandmother to try it, and we all immediately loved it. It was simple, elegant and was exactly what I wanted.

Favorite Moment: My favorite moment of the entire day was having all of our favorite people under the same roof. It was so fun to share our favorite day with the people who mean so much to us.

What You Are Doing Now: We are now living in Vestavia Hills. Ross is working as a nurse at UAB, and I am working as an adoption specialist at Lifeline Children’s Services.
