HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
We met in nursing school in 2018 but did not get together until 2020. In 2018, I messaged him first on Facebook, but he was in a relationship. Later, he messaged me back, but I was in a relationship. In 2020, our last semester of nursing school, we both were finally single, and we started flirting. We both quickly realized this was the real deal and began to fall in love.
THE PROPOSAL
We went to Memphis, Tennessee, to celebrate our second anniversary. This was our first trip together. We spent the day enjoying an exciting zipline and adventure park, then went to relax by the water. We were near the Memphis-Arkansas bridge in the evening, watching the sunset. After taking a short, romantic walk, we ended up sitting down by the river. I asked Ryan a question and didn’t get a response. When I turned around to see why he wasn’t responding, he was on one knee, ready to propose!
WEDDING DRESS DETAILS
I have always loved classic wedding dresses. I tried on a few dresses at bridal boutiques, but nothing seemed right. I actually ended up finding my wedding dress online. The lace detail and buttons going down the back is what made me fall in love with it and know it was the one.
WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE
Focus on each other. We made sure to check in with one another and make sure this wedding was something we both wanted and liked. Keep it simple. We had a small wedding—less than 30 People—and it was honestly very relieving not to have to stress over planning. We had a family-only wedding, and it meant so much to both of us to only have the ones we love the most there.
