How did you two meet?
Mitchell and I originally met in high school and actually dated for a few months when we were 16! We stayed close friends throughout the rest of high school, even after he changed schools junior year. We connected again during our freshman year of college. I was at Auburn, and he was at UAB. I came home one weekend to see him when he broke his arm (I’m pretty sure he just broke it, so I would come home and go on a date with him). The rest is history!
The Proposal
Mitchell took me on a planned “date night” and told me we were starting the night by visiting this beautiful venue for us to check out “some day when we decide to get married.” When we pulled up to the “venue,” there wasn’t actually a venue but a beautiful lot overlooking a lake. He walked me out by the lake and told me how much he loved me and how he has loved me since we were 16. He told me that he couldn’t imagine spending the rest of his life with anyone else and that he didn’t want me to be his girlfriend anymore. He wanted me to be his wife!
Favorite Wedding Moment
My favorite moment during our wedding was actually the morning of our wedding. Mitchell and I woke up and exchanged gifts privately and then drank coffee together as we took a walk down to the lake at our venue. We spent the morning talking about our future and how surreal it was that we made it to our wedding day already.
Favorite Wedding Details
My favorite details from our wedding day were our flowers! Our florist made my bouquet dream come to life. It was so beautiful and everything I dreamed of. We also chose to do a cupcake selection for the groom instead of a cake. Everyone loved them, and so did we! They also made for a great late night snack (they didn’t last too late though).
