How did you two meet?
We met on twitter of all places. We were just friends for about four years before I came to Birmingham to meet Mason in March 2017. I stayed to watch Mason play baseball. After getting to know each other better, we both knew that we wanted a relationship.
The Proposal
We got engaged in Nashville on February 25, 2022. A week before we left, I felt like something was coming, but I wasn’t sure. One night Mason and I were sitting on the couch, and my mom called Mason. Mason got up and walked into the guest room, talking about how the weather was fine and totally making up a conversation. I gave Mason the biggest grin when they got off the phone. Mason quickly went into cover-up mode, saying we were not getting engaged in Nashville. We were just going for the Preds game and to have a good time. We went on a date night downtown, and our first stop was the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. We were the only ones on the bridge besides the photographer. Mason got down on one knee and popped the question in the same spot we were in a few months earlier!
Favorite Wedding Moment
My favorite moment of the whole day was the first look. We did a private first look and exchanged our personal vows together. These were some of our only solo moments throughout the day, and we shared a few good laughs and sentimental tears.
Favorite Wedding Details
We really enjoyed getting ready at Lay Lake. That opportunity gave us the best of both worlds with indoor and outdoor pictures. We also enjoyed putting our unity cross together. This symbolizes the foundation of our marriage is centered around Christ, and it is a symbol that we can carry with us and is now on our mantle.
