Helena Old Town Live

The bands, Cracker and The Record Company, will headline Helena Old Town Live’s July concert! Attendees will also get to enjoy the festival’s fireworks, too! Everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on throughout the event. This event is free and open to the public. Find more details here.

Fire on the Water

Thursday, July 3 |5-9 p.m.
Oak Mountain State Park

Fire on the Water is back again will feature a live wakeboarding show from Flip Side Watersports, a fireworks display, music and family-friendly games and activities. From 5-7 p.m., Pelham residents will receive a discounted entry fee of only $10 per vehicle. Proof of residency can be shown by driver’s license. Other visitors receive a discounted rate of $15 per vehicle. Oak Mountain State Park will open at 7 a.m., and everyone is invited to come early and enjoy the park’s amenities. Independence Day Festival

Friday, July 4 | 10 a.m.-11 p.m.
American Village

Celebrate the United States’ 249th birthday at American Village! With more than 50 patriotic activities—including live music, dancing, family-friendly games and more—there is something for everyone to enjoy! Attendees will also get to tour more than 20 different, historically inspired buildings and meet patriots of the past such as Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Samuel Adams! At twilight’s last gleaming, American Village will host its annual fireworks show—be sure to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on to watch the festivities. Admission is $10 per person or $5 for those ages 5-18. Children ages 4 or younger, veterans and active military get in free. Learn more here.

First Friday Festivals

Downtown Calera

Calera Main Street welcomes everyone to celebrate Independence Day on Thursday, July 4, to kick off the holiday weekend with a bang. There will be a fireworks display, food and beverage vendors, family-friendly activities and more. On Friday, Aug. 1, the First Friday theme will be “Back to School.” This festival is sponsored by Central State bank, which will be giving away free backpacks to students to start the school year off right. Alabaster’s Fireworks Show

Wednesday, July 2 | 6-9:15 p.m.
Thompson High School
1921 Warrior Parkway

Food trucks, bounce houses, Knockerball, the Coca Cola Music Truck, family-friendly activities and more were available for patrons at the city of Alabaster’s annual Independence Day celebration. The fireworks show started at 9 p.m. and lasted exactly 13 minutes. Parking was available at all parking lots on Thompson High School’s campus, but spectators were asked not to park on the grassy areas. Parking was not available on state and county road right-of-ways during the show. This event was free admittance. Click here for updates.
