The Proposal
Logan proposed on May 15, 2021. It was the week before my birthday, so he told me he had made dinner plans at one of our favorite restaurants and sent me to get a manicure with a friend. That evening I got all dolled up, but on the way to dinner, we got a call from two of our friends that their vehicle was broken down on their family’s farm during a photography session. Logan was the only one who answered the phone to help. When we walked up to “rescue” our friends, a beautiful picnic was set out on the rug Logan had gifted me when we started dating. He asked me to be his wife and, of course, I said yes!
Favorite Wedding Moment
Music has always been an important part of our relationship, so I knew that the song I walked down the aisle to should be unique and special. I also knew that I wanted it to be a surprise to Logan. One of my favorite moments during the day was walking down the aisle to a Pink Floyd song and seeing Logan’s face when he saw me for the first time. The choice was nontraditional, but one that we both cherish.
Favorite Wedding Details
During the planning process, we really focused on details that felt like “us.” For the ceremony, I wore the dress that my mother was married in. It was such a special moment to share that dress with her. We released butterflies during the ceremony in honor of my grandmother who passed away. She was such an important part of my life, so it meant a great deal to my family to honor her in that way. She often referred to people as “sweet pea,” so my aunt grew a special type of sweet pea flower for me that we placed all over the ceremony space. It was such an exciting process to watch her grow those flowers, leading up to the wedding. So many family members helped make our day special.
