How did you two meet?
Will’s brother actually started dating my cousin. They thought that we would get along well and introduced us when I was 15 and he was 17 years old. Things didn’t work out then, but we reconnected at 18 and 20 years old.
The Proposal
In December 2021 I had a feeling that Will was going to propose around Christmas. During the first week of December, all of my friends started talking about my nails, and I caught on even more. His family Christmas was the first weekend of the month, so I assumed it was happening there. He found out I had caught on and caught me completely off guard. I got my nails done Thursday night after work, expecting the proposal on Saturday. We went out to look at Christmas lights with friends after my nail appointment, and he ended up asking me to marry him under the mistletoe in the walk-through Christmas light display.
Favorite Wedding Moment
Will is a drummer in a band called Chris Beverly Experience. Chris actually wrote our first dance song. This means no one has ever had, nor will ever have, the same first dance song as us. He wrote it specifically for and about us. We had also never heard it before we walked to the dance floor. It was so beautiful to hear it for the first time.
Favorite Wedding Details
Everything was done by someone close to us. My grandfather is a pastor and got to get up and pray over us. It was beautiful. The all-black bridal party was also a gorgeous detail.
