How We Met
Daniel and I (Juliana) went to trade school together at the School of Technology from 2010 to 2012. We dated for a few months and still kept in touch for a little while, but then didn’t speak for about seven years until April 2020 when I messaged him on Facebook. I asked him if he knew of anyone selling a pontoon boat. He said he would check around and offered to cook me dinner and catch up. The rest is history.
The Proposal
After finishing our Christmas Eve “Santa” duties, Daniel drove to the land that we are building a house on. I had been asleep in the truck, but the bumps woke me up and I asked what we were doing. He played it off as “just checking on everything,” but then he came to a stop and looked at me and asked, “Do you still want to live up here with me?” I responded, “Well duh, I told you that we could put the camper out here and move right now!” He then asked, “What would you do if I got you a ring?” and pulled out the ring that his grandfather proposed to his late grandmother with as he asked me to marry him.
Favorite Moment
My cousin, who was also one of matrons of honor, surprised me with our grandmother’s wedding jewelry to wear on my wedding day. Our Mimi passed away a few years ago, but I was able to have a part of her with me on my big day.
Favorite Details
Once we were pronounced husband and wife, Daniel and I walked out of the chapel to “Man of Me” by Gary Allan, a song that he has always sang to me in the car. Everyone has told me that I have been his “saving grace,” so the lyrics “loving you made a man of me” tells a part of our story.
