Fall Foliage Special

Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum

Take in fall foliage as you ride the rails of the old Alabama Mineral Railroad through scenic Shelby County landscapes. While you’re at the museum in Calera, you can also get a ticket to ride the newly restored Shelby & Southern Narrow Gauge Steam Railroad and get your own souvenir Golden Spike. Virtual Walk to End Epilepsy

Nov. 7

This annual walk will look at little different this year with a Zoom presentation at 9:30 a.m. After that registrants are encouraged to walk in support of the Epilepsy Foundation in their own neighborhood, on their treadmill, or wherever they choose. The event is expected to raise more than $50,000 to help the more than 54,000 people in Alabama living with epilepsy and seizures.  To sign up or for more information, visit walktoendepilepsy.org/Birmingham.

Virtual Out of the Darkness Walk

Join hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention at this annual walk, held virtually this year. All funds raised go toward the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. (Virtual) Market Noel

Nov. 16-22

This annual Junior League of Birmingham holiday shopping event is moving online follow COVID-19 safety precautions. With the purchase of a $15 General Admission ticket, you get access to its virtual marketplace with more than 50 stores from across the nation Tuesday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 22. Virtual events will also be held throughout the week. Proceeds from Market Noel go back into the community through the JLB’s 40 community projects benefiting women and children in need.
